HEART-THROB boyband JLS aren’t too worried about any costume mishaps, a la Whitney Houston, when they perform on Sunday’s X Factor results show.

In fact, they tell me, they positively encourage wardrobe malfunctions.

The band’s Marvin Humes laughs: “Sometimes we make our own wardrobe malfunctions. Perhaps a shirt might tear open, or just fall off!”

The lads, who finished runner-up to Alexandra Burke on last year’s X Factor, have become the most successful ever band to compete in the talent show.

They scored a number one with their debut Beat Again, and hope to repeat that success when second single Everybody In Love is released next week, sure to be boosted by their appearance on The X Factor on Sunday.

Meanwhile Manchester has become like a second home to the lads of late, with a host of personal appearances here, including tonight’s big Christmas lights switch-on at The Trafford Centre.

And they tell me they’re planning more nights here before Christmas.

Aston Merrygold says: “We love partying here. Manchester is a real favourite for us.”

JLS have revealed that they hope to one day break the States — but admit it will be a long time before they desert their UK fans.

The X Factor runner-ups have confessed that they would like their music to be Global, but say they are concentrating on building up a steady fan base before attempting to try and make it big over seas.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, Jonathan Gill said: “We’re concentrating on consolidating ourselves over here first. So it’ll probably be a long time before we think about the States and going over there to promote.

“Obviously it’s on our wish list, we’d love to go over there. It’s not different to any other territory and we want our music to be worldwide, that’s the main goal for us.”

JLS have just announced their first ever tour and tickets are on sale here.

JLS have promised that they will not desert their UK fans in a bid to break the US.

The boyband, who reached number one with their debut single ‘Beat Again’, admitted that they are eager to release material Stateside but will first focus on their support at home.

“We’re concentrating on consolidating ourselves over here first. So it’ll probably be a long time before we think about the States and going over there to promote,” Jonathan ‘JB’ Gill told BBC Newsbeat.

“Obviously it’s on our wish list, we’d love to go over there. It’s not different to any other territory and we want our music to be worldwide, that’s the main goal for us.”

The group, who came second in last year’s X Factor, are currently working on their debut album and will embark on their first headline tour next year.

JLS release new single ‘Everybody In Love’ on November 2.

The next time JLS star Aston Merrygold lifts his top to reveal his torso, keep and eye out for some Superman underpants.

Instead of his usual Calvin Kleins, the singer may be wearing a pair of bright yellow Spongebob Squarepants or Superman underpants, according to a report.

The X Factor runners-up apparently picked up the comedy pants on a shopping trip to Topman.

Aston, Marvin, Ortise and JB were invited by billionaire owner Sir Philip Green to the flagship store in London’s Oxford Street, says The Sun.

Sir Phillip’s daughter Chloe is said to be a fan of the boyband, so he gave the lads free rein and told them to take home anything they wanted.

The boys were not shy and picked out shoes, suits, bow-ties and the novelty underwear.

They managed to run up a total of £2,000 in under an hour at the London store on Sir Phillip’s tab.

The party-loving lads are not against spending their own money and have been reported to splash the cash on expensive nights out.

Fans of JLS star Marvin Humes have reacted angrily to his ex-girlfriend’s attempts at launching her own music career.

Yesterday, it emerged that Jaime Jay had capitalised on the success of the boyband’s chart-topping single ‘Beat Again’ by recording her own version ‘Cheat Again’, which appears to brand her former lover a womaniser.

The track has now provoked a backlash from supporters of Humes on YouTube, where it has been posted by Jay under the name JLX.

Writing in response to the song, one fan warned: “This sucks. Wtf were you thinking when you did this? That it mite help you make a few thousand well sorry babe you’ve just gained yourself a lot of haters (sic).”

Another added: “This is crapp what a sadd weirdo get over it yeah? God, even if he did cheat cant blame him, look at him, thenn look at yourself babe.”

Other messages posted on the site branded Jay “jealous”, a “bitch” and a “slag”.

Not all JLS supporters were annoyed about the recording, however. One commented: “I’m a huge JLS fan, but I still think this is funny. Ye know, she’s a smart girl if she’s using their own song against him.”

‘Beat Again’ topped the UK singles chart in July.
